DRIVERS are set to endure two years of roadworks on a busy stretch of motorway – while £233 million worth of improvements are carried out.
The M6 between junction 16 at Crewe to junction 19 at Knutsford will be turned into a 'smart motorway' with four running lanes as opposed to the current three.
It will also see the introduction of lower speed limits during peak times, as well as the installation of new speed cameras.
