BOSSES at Alton Towers' owner Merlin Entertainments say a rollercoaster crash at the park could wipe up to £47 million off the company's profits.
The Smiler rollercoaster crash on June 2 left four people seriously injured, and led to the temporary closure of the North Staffordshire theme park.
And now Merlin has released figures which reveal the 'adverse impact on trading' since the incident – which it says has caused a 'significant reduction' in visitor numbers.
