FIREFIGHTERS tackled a chip pan fire at a flat in Dyke Street, Hanley.
Crews from Hanley, Newcastle and Burslem got to the scene at around 3.30pm today.
An aerial ladder from Longton also attended, but left at 4.09pm.
The fire was caused by accidental ignition in a second floor flat.
Thankfully the man managed to get himself out of the property, along with one of his cats.The other cat was rescued by a firefighter.
