A woman dialled 999 and claimed she had been raped in a bid to get police to drive her from Derby to her home in North Staffordshire.
Claire Hollins, aged 22, rang Derbyshire Police on the emergency number to say she had been raped.
But when officers spoke to her she admitted nothing had happened and that she "just wanted a lift home".
