AROUND £16,000 of taxpayers' money will be spent replacing 'welcome' signs around the Potteries.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is installing 16 of the new signs at gateways into the city, at a cost of £1,000 each.
Each 12ft sign will have a greeting that reads 'Welcome to Stoke-on-Trent', along with the city's traditional coat of arms and the name of the area.
