A COMMUNITY cafe for cash-strapped families proved a hit on its opening day.
Parents from St Luke's CE Primary, in Silverdale, have taken over the eaterie at the village's Cornerstone Community Centre.
They are relying on ingredients and produce that is near to the end of its shelf life which has been generously donated by Morrisons in Lower Milehouse. Parents will also be serving up their own homemade cakes, as well as a hearty and healthy dish of the day.
