Stoke-on-Trent is the top 10 of a national league of hotspots for parents taking their kids out of school to go on holiday.
New government figures show pupils in the 87 state schools in our city lost the equivalent of 10,778 days to unauthorised holidays during the autumn term 2016.
A total of 0.51% of all possible teaching "sessions" - school mornings or afternoons - were lost in Stoke-on-Trent for that reason.
