Police warn of Cobridge conmen offering to clean gutters
Police have received reports of males in the Cobridge area offering to clean gutters this week.They visited one address and took money from the residents for materials, but never returned to complete the work.They know there were four males, and at least two of them spoke with Irish-style accents. APPEAL: Did you see three vehicle crash in Stone?
Police received a call just after 5.30pm yesterday afternoon reporting a three vehicle road traffic collision in Stone. One vehicle ended up on its roof after the collision on the B5066 Hilderstone Road, in Spot Acre. It involved a silver Ford Bmax, a blue Toyota Yaris and a black Audi A4 estate. The road was blocked whilst one person was removed from the overturned car, and recovery of the vehicles was arranged. West Midlands Ambulance Service attended, and took one person to North Staffs...

Pottery giant Josiah Wedgwood has been overlooked in the race to be chosen as the next historic figure to appear on a UK banknote.
Bank of England officials asked the public to nominate someone to appear on the next £20 note – due to be issued in 2020 – and specified that it should be an artist.

TWO women had 'the chop' to raise funds in memory of six-year-old Lucas Williams.
Lucas was a pupil at The Willows Primary School, in Penkhull, when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour last May.

THE grieving family of a 33-year-old pottery worker are appealing for answers after the death of their loved-one from a heroin overdose.
Dad-of-one Paul Taylor was found dead at his Blurton home last May with enough heroin in his system 'to kill a horse'. Police arrested two men on suspicion of possessing heroin with intent to supply following Paul's death.
