THE unmistakable thrum of scooters filled the air as sharply-dressed Mod fans gathered for a major charity event backed by a star of cult film Quadrophenia.
Bands from across the country including The HiWatts and The Kite Collectors played hits from the era at the March of Mods fundraiser in Stoke.
And actor Gary Shail, who played Spider in the 1979 cult classic Quadrophenia, was at The Gardeners Retreat event yesterday, which raised cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
