MOURNERS gathered to pay their respects to a popular pottery worker who died after being struck by a vehicle.
Matthew Hancock passed away just nine days before his 31st birthday after the fatal incident in Newcastle's Market Lane last month.

PUPILS earned 'full barks' in class after they spent a day learning how to train dogs and guide them through an obstacle course in the school grounds.

Firefighters tackle blaze at derelict chicken farm in Blurton
FIREFIGHTERS have been dealing with an incident at a chicken farm.
Two Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service crews from Longton were called to the incident at the former Blurton Poultry Farm, on Barlaston Road in Blurton, at 8.45pm.
A spokesman for the fire service said the fire occurred in a timber and concrete shed on the site.
A hose reel jet was used to tackle the blaze, which is believed to have been started deliberately.
