Investigation launched after gas main damaged in crash
POLICE are hunting a driver who crashed a car into a wall sparking a gas leak.
The emergency services cordoned off Liverpool Road in Kidgrove following the incident at 8pm on Sunday night, July 26.
And the force say they are concerned the driver – who fled the scene – may have suffered injuries in the crash.
Residents from nearby homes were advised to stay inside as firefighters worked to stem the leak before National Grid engineers arrived.

Police probe bid to set patrol car on fire
POLICE have launched an investigation after an apparent attempt was made to set a patrol car alight.
A member of the public spotted 'suspicious activity' next to the vehicle while it was parked up in Leek.
Officers had left the vehicle on the junction of Ashbourne Road and Mount Road while they attended a property in the area on Saturday night.
But the force was called at 9.50pm to let them know something was going on next to the car.

Vandals who targeted cemetery are 'disgraceful'
FLOWERS and ornaments laid in memory of loved-ones have been desecrated at a town's cemetery.
The offenders ripped up flowers from graves and damaged ornaments and pots at Cheadle Cemetery, in Cheadle.
Vandals are believed to have targeted the Park Lane facility between 6pm on Wednesday, July 22 and 8am on Friday, July 24.

FAMILY and friends said their final goodbyes to a popular sportsman who drowned while swimming in the sea.
